THE COLLECTION’S STORY

Az ölelés ívei

That evening, they sat by the window for a long time. Two cups stood on the table; steam still rose from one of them. The next day, one of them would be travelling far away.

There was so much they wanted to say, yet they talked about the most ordinary things. The weather. A forgotten book. How the plant only needed watering once a week.

Then one stood up, the other stepped closer, and they embraced. With a small movement, each found a place against the other’s shoulder, as though their bodies had long understood what they were still trying to put into words.

Az ölelés ívei holds that moment.

The sculptural forms turn towards one another, embracing the space between them. From each angle, a different detail appears: a curve approaching, a gentle meeting, an opening through which the light shines.

The off-white and bronze version recalls a morning when everything is still possible. Its darker, patinated companion carries the depth of time spent together. Their golden edges catch the light only at certain angles, as an old memory can unexpectedly come alive again.

In the painting, these curves keep moving. On porcelain, they settle into a few fine lines; on silk, they fall into soft folds. The memory of an embrace enters everyday life: beside a morning coffee, in a scarf draped over a shoulder, in a favourite corner of a home.

So that, years later, in an entirely ordinary moment, we might remember how it felt when someone held us just a little longer.

Small gestures at home

Fine gold-and-bronze lines and touches of charcoal cross the off-white porcelain concepts. A silk scarf and cushion carry the painting’s larger, freer curves.
