The collection story

One morning, Aenili appeared among the glass towers. A little girl looked through the opening in her chest and saw her mother. “Stay there. Now you are her heart.” The spirals in Aenili’s hair held space for unspoken words: thanks, apologies and declarations waiting for courage. In time, the city made her a meeting place. Every evening, the girl asked her mother to stand behind the heart once more.
