Roots of Silence
Sage, terracotta and ivory — an art collection inspired by the form of a bonsai.

THE COLLECTION STORY
Roots of Silence
Once there was a tree that did not grow straight. Again and again, the wind came from the same direction, and its young branches slowly bent before it. The trunk twisted, the foliage reached sideways, and the roots held the earth more firmly.
Every morning, a gardener sat beside it. He watered it, removed the dry leaves, then simply watched for a few minutes. As the years passed, he came to notice even the smallest change: a fresh shoot, a new curve, moss spreading around its base.
One day, someone asked him:
“Why did you not straighten it while you still could?”
The gardener ran his hand along the edge of the bowl.
“Because I wanted to see where it would grow next.”
In time, the tree reached beyond the edge of its bowl. An open space remained beneath its branches, letting the afternoon sunlight through. The gardener would set his tea there and wait for the shadow to reach his cup.
The collection grew from this quiet moment. A branch continues across porcelain, the shadow of foliage rests on silk, and the journal cover leaves room for everything still to come.
Leaving room for what keeps growing.
